LivingTown Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to LivingTown on Baslerstrasse, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical corporate hotel chain. The building has this modern, understated vibe that fits perfectly with the Altstetten neighborhood — it’s refreshingly unpretentious for Zurich. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. The straightforward approach to hospitality creates an authentic experience that resonates with guests seeking genuine Swiss charm without unnecessary pretense.
The Altstetten Advantage
Here’s what makes staying in Altstetten special — you’re actually living like a local instead of being stuck in the touristy center. The tram connections are fantastic, with the stop practically at your doorstep, and you can reach Zurich’s main station in about 15 minutes. What’s really nice is having genuine Swiss neighborhood life around you — there’s a Migros nearby for groceries, local cafes where people actually work on their laptops, and tree-lined streets that feel refreshingly calm after a day of sightseeing. This location offers an authentic slice of daily Swiss life that most visitors never experience.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for Zurich standards, with clean lines and that minimalist Swiss aesthetic done right. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well, which doesn’t always happen when traveling, and the bathroom had good water pressure — small details that matter when you’re exploring the city all day. The windows are well-insulated too, so even though you’re on a main street, traffic noise isn’t really an issue. These thoughtful touches demonstrate attention to guest comfort and quality sleep.
Practical Perks
What I appreciated most was how straightforward everything felt. Check-in was efficient without being rushed, and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. There’s parking available if you’re driving, which is actually a big deal in this part of the city. The whole setup feels designed for people who want a clean, comfortable base without paying for amenities they won’t use — no fancy lobby lounge or overpriced restaurant, just solid fundamentals done well. This honest approach to hospitality appeals to practical travelers.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really stands out? The location rating speaks for itself — couples especially seem to get it, probably because you can easily explore both the city center and have quiet evenings in a real neighborhood. It’s that sweet spot where you’re connected but not overwhelmed, comfortable but not overpaying. For travelers who want to experience Zurich without the tourist bubble, LivingTown delivers exactly what it promises. The hotel succeeds by focusing on quality essentials and authentic neighborhood integration rather than chasing premium trends.
Early hotels booking in Zurich secures balcony seats for Street Parade DJs and fireworks reflected on the lake.

Reviews of LivingTown
Fantastic! – Abdulmajeed from Saudi Arabia (9/10)
Everything, the employees are super nice and helpful, always making sure we are comfortable. Will diffidently come back again.
A place to stay even for long periods. A perfect compromise between hotel and apartment. – Martina from Italy (9/10)
The size of the room and the care in furnishing, including the common areas.
Wonderful – Darren from Singapore (9/10)
Clean, high tech and modern design. App controls main door in building, lifts and your room. Do the advance check in and pay your city tax, if within office hours (before 5pm), staff at counter could help you with that
Definitely worth it! Excellent location too. – Sotiria from Greece (9/10)
Amazing, big room with many amenities and a kitchen with equipment. It was exactly like the photos. Extremely clean and fully renovated. The best room we have stayed in until today. Two supermarkets at about 3 minutes away and the bus and tram stations to the center are 5 minutes away. All procedures and keys are digital with an app, so no worries about losing the key.
Good – Nadia from France (7/10)
The location was good.
The appartement is new.Excellent studio flat and excellent facilities, will stay again. – Sean from United Kingdom (9/10)
Very clean and comfortable. Excellent facilities.
Nice location close to the Stadium. – Wenqing from Switzerland (8/10)
The location to the Stadium, and the design of modern style of facilities.
Beautiful, fully-equipped flat in a good location, but with some disadvantages – Joanna from Greece (8/10)
Special shout out to the staff, who were friendly and very helpful. The loft was amazing – huge space, with full kitchen (including dishwasher, full sized fridge, plates, glasses, cutlery etc.), modern dining area, fantastic walk-in shower, office corner (complete with all the necessary sockets), bedroom and a separate living room with tall wardrobes and flat screen TV. There was also a clothes washing machine and dryer! The loft was spotless and everything was in top condition. The location was good, with a 10 min walk to the Alstetten station and just a 4 min train into Zurich main station. It was quiet at night, with no tram lines on the surrounding roads. For all this, the accommodation would deserve a 10, but…
Very Good – Jennica from Philippines (8/10)
The place was good and near the letzigrund stadium where taylor swift had her concert. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The facilities were complete as well.
Clean and Technologically advanced – Melissa from United States of America (9/10)
Nice facility near the soccer stadium. Not very central but easy and quick taxi or uber to the city center. The rooms were very clean and everything is connected via technology. I saw some reviews where people struggled with the technology – we followed the instructions and did not have any problems, even when arriving back late one night. It is to be noted that they do not have AC – but they will give you fans if you ask which worked for us even in the heat of the summer!
