Zurich Furnished Homes Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Zurich Furnished Homes on Schimmelstrasse, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s actually more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed city apartment — which, honestly, is exactly what makes this three-star property so appealing. The building itself has that understated Swiss charm, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to feel at home in a new city. The location offers convenient access to local amenities and transportation, making it an ideal base for exploring the vibrant Aussersihl district.
The Aussersihl Advantage
Here’s something most tourists don’t realize about Zurich — the Aussersihl district is where locals actually want to live. You’re not stuck in some sterile tourist bubble here. I mean, you’ve got authentic Swiss cafes within walking distance, and the whole area has this lived-in feel that makes you understand what daily life is really like. The location consistently gets high marks from guests (that 8.6 rating isn’t just luck), and couples especially seem to love how easy it is to explore from here. The neighborhood’s character reflects genuine Swiss urban living at its finest.
Living Like a Local
What sets this place apart is the furnished apartment setup — each room feels like you’re borrowing a friend’s place rather than checking into a hotel. You’ll find proper living spaces with everything you actually need, not just the basics. The kitchen facilities are particularly useful if you want to grab groceries from the local markets and cook something simple. It’s that kind of flexibility that makes longer stays feel natural rather than exhausting. The thoughtful furnishing and layout create a welcoming atmosphere that guests consistently appreciate.
Getting Around
The public transport connections from Schimmelstrasse are honestly pretty excellent — you can reach Zurich’s main train station in about 10 minutes, and the tram system here is so reliable you’ll start setting your watch by it. Parking can be tricky in this part of the city (like most of Zurich, really), but if you’re planning to use public transport anyway, it’s not really an issue. The neighborhood itself is walkable, with that perfect mix of residential quiet and urban convenience. Local shops and services are easily accessible on foot.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.6 overall rating tells you something important — people leave here feeling like they actually experienced Zurich rather than just visited it. The furnished apartment concept works particularly well for couples, who seem to appreciate having space to spread out and plan their days over coffee in their own temporary living room. You’re not getting five-star amenities or a fancy lobby, but you are getting something arguably more valuable — a genuine sense of what it’s like to live in one of Europe’s most expensive cities without completely breaking the bank. This restaurant-adjacent neighborhood offers dining options within steps, adding to the authentic local experience and creating memorable stays for discerning travelers.
Zurich hotels keep guests close to Bahnhofstrasse boutiques, chocolate ateliers, and sunrise ferries on Lake Zurich.

Exceptional – Bianca from Italy (9/10)
Staff is very friendly..clean and comfortable
We had a wonderful time – Murti from Indonesia (9/10)
What we love most about this apartment is its fantastic location. It’s just a quick 3-5 minute walk to the tram stop and Wiedikon train station. Old Town Zurich is only 20-25 minutes walking distance. Both Migros and Coop are about 1.5 km from apartment. Plus, the living room has a door, so it can easily be turned into a second bedroom. Another great perk is the washing machine and free laundry facilities right on the ground floor. One more, the welcome snack and drink were a nice surprise!

The biggest and the best apartment that I ever stayed during my 9 days trip in Switzerland. A short walk from Zurich Weikdon station to the apartment and quite near to Zurich main station. The apartment is huge, bed is soft and comfy. You can do your own laundry at the ground floor, free use of washing machine and dryer. The room come with complimentary drinks and snack. Staff is kind and friendly too.
