The building sits quietly in the Wiedikon district, which I’ll admit isn’t the flashiest part of Zurich, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a neighborhood than a tourist zone. It’s a three-star property that doesn’t try to be anything it’s not, and after checking in, I found that approach actually quite appealing.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment here comes fully furnished with everything you’d need for a longer stay — or even just a few nights when you want more space than a standard hotel room. The kitchen setup is particularly well thought out, with proper cookware and dishes that don’t look like they came from a discount store. You know what really impressed me? The attention to details like having actual wine glasses and decent knives for cooking. The living areas feel lived-in rather than sterile, which makes settling in for the evening much more comfortable than staring at generic hotel art.

Wiedikon might not be old town Zurich, but it’s got this authentic Swiss residential vibe that I actually preferred to staying right in the tourist center. The tram connections are excellent — you’re maybe 15 minutes from Bahnhofstrasse and the main shopping areas. What couples seem to love (and the 8.2 location rating from pairs makes sense) is that you can walk to some genuinely good local spots for dinner without fighting crowds of tour groups. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, though honestly, with Zurich’s public transport, you probably won’t need a car much.

Daily Life & Amenities

The building itself is well-maintained without being fancy — think clean, functional, and comfortable rather than Instagram-worthy. I mean, this isn’t a place with a spa or elaborate lobby, but the essentials are all covered properly. The wifi actually works well (always a concern with apartment-style places), and the laundry facilities are a real bonus if you’re staying more than a couple nights. Staff availability is more limited than a full-service hotel, but when you need something, they’re helpful and speak excellent English.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

After spending several nights here, I get why this place maintains such solid ratings — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. You’re getting significantly more space than a traditional hotel room for reasonable money in an expensive city like Zurich. The furnished apartment setup works particularly well for business travelers or anyone staying more than just a night or two. Sure, you won’t have room service or a concierge, but you’ll have a proper place to spread out, cook a meal, and feel somewhat normal while you’re traveling. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the hotel amenities in the world.

  Nice location, only a few tram stops away from the center. Next to several good shops. Instructions made it easy to find the location. Very spacious rooms, plenty of natural light, with a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen. All amenities were provided, host was responsive. Basic style, but provides the bare minimum and is worth all the money! I booked pretty last minute, and there were no comparable alternatives in terms of location, cleanliness, and price.

  The appartment in a quiet area was very clean and freshly decorated. Beautifully warm appartment with large rooms and comfortable beds. Spacious with rooms going off a large dining area so no narrow corridors to negotiate, 3 mins walk to Migros supermarket and the tram stops, walking distance from the start of the trail up Uetliberg, 10 mins tram ride to Zurich main line station and the centre.
