Walking up to Züri by Fassbind, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel. Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying in Escher Wyss — you’re technically outside Zurich’s old town, but that’s actually brilliant. The tram connections are fantastic (the Swiss public transport really is as good as everyone says), and you can reach the main train station in about 15 minutes. What I loved most was how this area feels like where actual locals live and work.

There’s a great mix of converted warehouses, trendy cafes, and that authentic Swiss neighborhood energy you miss when you’re stuck in the tourist zones. The district has genuinely transformed into one of the city’s most vibrant areas, with independent shops and restaurants reflecting the creative spirit of the community.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly spacious for European standards — I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without doing yoga moves around the bed. The design strikes this nice balance between modern functionality and Swiss attention to detail. The windows are properly soundproofed too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag.

And here’s a small thing that made a big difference: the lighting actually works for both relaxing and getting ready to go out. The furnishings are thoughtfully selected, and the overall aesthetic feels both comfortable and contemporary.

Breakfast & Amenities

The breakfast spread genuinely impressed me — they do this great mix of continental, American, and buffet options that somehow doesn’t feel overwhelming. The Swiss pastries are obviously excellent, but they also nail the basics like proper coffee and fresh fruit. There’s parking right at the hotel, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Zurich, you’ll know is worth its weight in gold.

The whole setup feels thoughtfully planned rather than just thrown together. Every detail, from the quality of the linens to the amenities in the bathroom, reflects the hotel’s commitment to guest comfort.

Why Guests Love It

You can tell this place has figured something out — there are way more repeat guests here than most hotels I’ve stayed at, and after a few days, I totally understood why. The location scores consistently high with couples, and I can see the appeal. It’s close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds that you feel like you’re experiencing the real Zurich.

The staff seems genuinely invested in making sure you have a good time, not just checking boxes on some corporate hospitality checklist. It’s the kind of place where you’d actually want to stay again, which honestly, isn’t something I say about most hotels.

  Our stay was very pleasant. Room was large and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast lovely. Public transport close. Restaurants close. We walked from main train station – 30 mins. The best item was the Local Guide Pamphlet provided by the hotel -included transport, maps – everything required to assist our stay. Very quiet location.

  Location as good restaurants near by train station Zurich HB just few stops away and can reach within 10 minutes by taking tram 4 and 17 which goes to Zurich HB main train station every 5 mints from tram station which is just three mints walking distance from this hotel also train station Hardbrucke too close from hotel but I will suggesst to use tram 17 and 4 from going or coming to this hotel which is easier and better
