Hotel City Zürich Design & Lifestyle Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel City Zürich Design & Lifestyle feels like stepping into someone’s really well-curated apartment — if that someone happened to have excellent taste and a thing for clean lines. The lobby isn’t trying too hard to impress you, which honestly makes it more impressive. It’s one of those three-star places that punches way above its weight, and you can tell from the moment you walk in that they’ve thought about every detail. The attention to design extends throughout the property, creating an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and thoughtfully composed.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s great about Löwenstrasse? You’re basically in the thick of everything without feeling like you’re camping out in Times Square. I mean, Zurich Old Town is right there — you can walk to the Grossmünster in about ten minutes, and the lake is maybe fifteen if you’re taking your time. The couples who stay here absolutely love it, and I get why. There’s something romantic about being able to wander through those narrow cobblestone streets and then come back to your own little design haven. Plus, you’ve got the main shopping district practically at your doorstep. The neighborhood truly offers the best of both worlds.
The Room Experience
The room design is where this place really shows off — it’s modern without being cold, if that makes sense. They’ve managed to squeeze a lot of style into what are admittedly compact spaces, but it works. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the bathrooms feel more expensive than they probably are. Actually, the whole place has this knack for making you feel like you’re staying somewhere pricier. The windows are decent-sized too, so you’re not feeling claustrophobic even in the smaller rooms. Each space has been carefully considered for maximum comfort and aesthetic appeal.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The breakfast buffet is solid — nothing fancy, but they do it right. Fresh bread, good coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying a few days. What I really noticed though is how many people seem to come back here. The staff mentioned they have way more repeat guests than most hotels, and after staying here, I totally understand why. There’s something about the whole experience that just clicks. This consistency in quality keeps guests returning season after season.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll be posting Instagram shots of over-the-top amenities, but it’s the kind of place you’ll actually want to return to. The location score speaks for itself — 9.5 out of 10 isn’t something you see every day. You’re paying for smart design, a killer location, and that rare thing in hospitality: a place that feels authentic rather than manufactured. If you want to actually experience Zurich rather than just sleep somewhere in it, this is your spot. The hotel delivers genuine hospitality that resonates with discerning travelers.
Exploring Zurich layers Romanesque towers, cutting-edge galleries, riverside baths, and chocolate cafés tucked into arcades.

Great location! – Laura from United States of America (9/10)
This hotel is in a great location! We were a 10 minute walk (if that) from the train station and 10 minutes from old town. Breakwater was really good. Not much goes on around the hotel at night so it was quiet. We used the air conditioner to just take the humidity out of the room but didn’t really need it.
Good – Rachel from Philippines (7/10)

The hotel was a gem and the staff was wonderful. The hotel has a great location, in one direction you have the old town in the opposite direction you have the train station and bus area pick up a few minutes walk.
