Hotel Adler Zürich Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Adler Zürich on Rosengasse, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This three-star gem sits right on Hirschenplatz, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has this understated Swiss charm — not flashy, but you can tell it’s been welcoming travelers for years. There’s something reassuring about places like this, where the focus is clearly on getting the basics absolutely right rather than trying to impress with unnecessary frills.
Perfect Zurich Location
I mean, you really can’t ask for a better spot in Zurich. Being right in the heart of the old town means you’re literally steps away from everything that matters — the Limmat River, the main shopping streets, all those winding cobblestone paths that make Zurich so photogenic. What I love about this location is that you can walk to most attractions, but you’re tucked away on a quieter street so you’re not dealing with constant tourist crowds right outside your window. The couples who stay here clearly get it — they’ve rated the location 9.7, and after spending time in the area, I totally understand why.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Hotel Adler are what I’d call “Swiss efficient” — everything you need without any waste. Don’t expect massive spaces (this is Zurich, after all), but each room is thoughtfully designed to make the most of what’s available. The beds are properly comfortable, and you know what really impressed me? The attention to detail in keeping things clean and well-maintained. Sometimes with three-star properties you worry about corners being cut, but that’s definitely not the case here. The windows actually open too, which is surprisingly rare these days and gives you that fresh Alpine air feeling even in the city center.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast situation here is solid — they do a proper buffet that covers all the bases without going overboard. You’ve got your typical Swiss offerings alongside international options, and the coffee is actually good (not always a given at hotel breakfasts). What I appreciated was that they seem to understand their guests are likely heading out to explore the city, so everything’s set up to fuel you for a day of walking around Zurich’s hills and neighborhoods. The breakfast restaurant area has this cozy, local feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer than you probably should.
Why Guests Love It
Hotel Adler Zürich works because it knows exactly what it is — a well-run, comfortable base for exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The 8.7 rating reflects what you actually experience: reliable comfort, unbeatable location, and staff who clearly care about making sure you have what you need. It’s not trying to be an upscale destination hotel, and that’s exactly why it succeeds. For the price point and location, you’re getting exceptional value in a city where that’s increasingly hard to find. If you want to be in the thick of historic Zurich without paying five-star prices, this is your answer.

Stay at Hotel Adler – Cynthia from United States of America (9/10)
We enjoyed this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. It is close to many restaurants, shops, and the lake. The restaurant downstairs was very good and they have a nice buffet breakfast in the morning. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Small, well-managed hotel in the heart of Zurich – Alison from United Kingdom (9/10)
Cute hotel with a fantastic location in the heart of Zurich. 10 minutes walk from the main station. Clean and welcoming. Faces onto a street with a lot of nightlife but the double glazing did its job and kept out the noise
