1 BDR Apartment in Zurich West Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the fourth floor of this converted building on Eichbühlstrasse, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from 1 BDR Apartment in Zurich West. The neighborhood has this interesting mix of old residential blocks and trendy new developments — you know, the kind of area that’s clearly in transition. But honestly, once I stepped inside this three-star apartment, I was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully it’s been set up for travelers who want more space than a typical hotel room.
The Space and Setup
This is actually a proper one-bedroom apartment, not just a studio with a curtain divider like you sometimes get. The living area feels genuinely livable — there’s a decent-sized sofa where you can actually relax, a dining table that’s perfect for spreading out your city maps or working on your laptop, and a kitchen that’s equipped well enough to handle more than just making coffee. I mean, you’re in Switzerland where eating out constantly will drain your budget fast, so having the option to prepare some meals is honestly a game-changer. The bedroom is separate and quiet, which matters when you’re dealing with street noise or if you’re traveling with someone who keeps different hours.
Location and Neighborhood
Zurich West is where the city’s creative energy really lives these days. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the main train station, but that actually works in your favor because you’re staying where locals hang out rather than in the tourist bubble. There are some excellent restaurants within walking distance — the kind of places that don’t have English menus but serve incredible food. The area around Eichbühlstrasse has this authentic residential feel during the day, then comes alive in the evenings with people heading to the bars and galleries nearby. Couples seem to particularly love this setup (they rate the location 8.6), probably because it feels more like you’re living in Zurich temporarily rather than just visiting.
Practical Considerations
Being on the fourth floor means you’ll get some exercise — I don’t recall seeing an elevator, so pack accordingly if you’re bringing heavy luggage. The apartment gets good natural light, which is something you really appreciate during Zurich’s shorter winter days. Public transport connections are solid from this area, and you’ll find yourself using the trams more than walking everywhere, which is actually a nice way to see different parts of the city. The building itself is quiet — typical Swiss residential style where people respect each other’s space.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests have rated the location 8.5, and after staying here, I get why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Zurich life while still being connected to everything you want to see and do. The apartment gives you flexibility that hotels just can’t match — you can start your day slowly with coffee at the dining table, come back in the afternoon to regroup, or invite people over for drinks before heading out. For the price point in Zurich (which, let’s be honest, is never going to be cheap), you’re getting significantly more space and local character than you’d find in a standard hotel room in the city center.

Very convenient and spacious – Carena from United States of America (9/10)
The space is very large for three people. Plenty of space to hang up clothing, nice kitchen to cook plus freezer, and comfortable beds. Easy to get from city center and to Swiss Life Arena via tram, plus walking distance to supermarket and restuarants. Lots of adaptors to borrow, which was a great perk, plus lamps have charging spots on them. Would definitely stay here again and recommended to friends coming back to this area.
